Financial resources are crucial for meaningful progress in law reform. Without adequate, consistent, and predictable funding, efforts to advance legal reform cannot be sustained. Historically, ruling political parties, in collusion with our predominantly two-party system, have secured public funding for themselves while imposing complex, bureaucratic regulations on donations made by citizens to non-profit organizations. It is clear that without public funding, non-profit organizations like ours would face significant challenges in promoting innovative ideas for legal reform.
