The key to implementing a true democratic system lies in empowering individuals within their local communities. Many societal issues can only be effectively managed, monitored, and resolved by the people themselves rather than by a rigid, bureaucratic legal system. Such rule-based systems, created by parliamentary elites, often serve to protect their own interests, control the populace, and secure ongoing financial benefits for polyarchic institutions and the elite—including political parties and politicians—ensuring their unchallenged power and authority.
Although the current criminal justice system allows for trial by jury, these juries—composed of ordinary citizens—are carefully controlled and guided by judges who impose strict instructions. Why is the system designed this way? Is it because judicial elites distrust juries, or do they use juries as mere puppets?
This kind of interference and manipulation of juries undermines the principle of being judged by one’s peers. A comprehensive reform of the criminal and civil judicial systems is urgently needed. Here are some suggestions…
