In our modern, diverse society, the only way to ensure fairness is by first respecting all taxpayers for their financial contributions to effective government administration. Our complex society includes many influential special interest groups, such as industry associations, unions, religious organizations, and various Canadian advocacy groups. Therefore, the most rational approach to treating everyone fairly—including these groups—is to use their tax contributions as the primary benchmark for developing laws and policies. Fair tax collection and equitable allocation of these funds should focus on maximizing benefits for all citizens, with the common denominator being the responsible use of tax dollars as a key consideration.
